Rental Deposit with INCASÒL

What is INCASÒL and what does it do with your rental deposit?

The Institut Català del Sòl (INCASÒL) is a public body of the Government of Catalonia that, among other functions, manages retal deposits for tenancy agreements in Catalonia.

If you're a landlord: You are legally required to deposit the tenant's rental deposit with INCASÒL. This protects the tenant's rights and ensures transparency in the rental process. The deposit can be made easily online or through the official channels provided by the Catalan Government.

If you're a tenant: Your deposit is not kept by the landlord, but is safely held by INCASÒL. At the end of the tenancy, if everything is in good condition (no damage or unpaid bills), the landlord can request the return, and the money will be transferred directly to you.

Why is this done? To protect both parties and esure the deposit is returned fairly and legally.
